Philanthropy Events
Anchor Splash
Every Spring semester, Delta Gamma holds an event that is unique to all others on campus! Here we encourage all other Greek or non-Greek organizations to participate in a competition composed of many different swimming games and activities. These activities include things like relay races, water sports, a pool dance, and banner contest. Each organization pays a fee in order to participate in Anchor Splash, which benefits our philanthropy, Service for Sight! We also offer snacks and refreshments as another fundraising opportunity. All organizations that participate in Anchor Splash have a lot of fun and look forward to this annual event!
Anchor Slam
Unlike Anchor Splash, this event is held in the fall. Instead of being in the water, we take this event to the basketball court! Again, we encourage all organizations, Greek or not, to participate in this 3-on-3 basketball tournament that benefits Service for Sight. We split up the guys and the girls to compete against each other in separate tournaments and fight to gain the ultimate bragging rights.
We highly encourage all types of people to participate in our two philanthropy events, since it benefits the great cause behind Service for Sight while having a blast at the same time!
Gamma Games
This past fall semester, we had the pleasure of hosting Gamma Games. Gamma Games consisted of a variety of different gym class style games, including tug of war, hungry-hungry hippo, hole-hooping, and red light green light. We encouraged all organizations, Greek or not, to participate. Earlier in the semester, we had a service hour where we wrote eye facts and tied them to lollipops. These lollipops were then handed out at the Gamma Games event! All proceeds from Gamma Games and our entire philanthropy week went towards our philanthropy, Service for Sight.
